Work With Us

We spend so much of our lives at work, why not make sure it is a great place to be. Somewhere safe, supportive and allows us to be ourselves. My name is Amy Geach, CEO and Founder of Riverina Hand Therapy and that is my ongoing philosophy around my team. To re-write the old norms and create a workplace that pushes us just enough outside the comfort zone so we can grow, but catches us in the safety net when we need support. I would like to invite you to consider working with us here and see where your career can grow. We have the following graduate positions available.

Graduate Program: The Launch Project

About The Launch Project

If you are a new graduate looking for a place to land, or have already graduated in the last two years and want to work in the hand therapy area, we invite you to consider our Graduate Program.... The Launch Project.

The Launch Project has been designed here to support therapists who are new to hand therapy so they can grow their professional and personal skills as therapists.

We have created a special space for you in our team where you can ignite your passion, be proud of yourself, and nurture your confidence. We know it can feel scary going to work after university. It can also feel scary changing your work area.

No being thrown in the deep end, and having to 'wing it'.... our graduate program has the right amout of hand holding when you need it, and the right about of challenge so you can grow and feel the energy that comes with being just outside your comfort zone!

When you join The Launch Project, you can expect to:

  • Learn with other like minded people who also want to be here (no more annoying group assignments!)
  • Be lifted and supported by our current therapists who are caring and full of knowledge. They are here ready to show you the ropes.
  • Get immersed with great clients. We truly do have wonderful people we see.
  • Have a dedicated mentor who has your back
  • Become part of our nternal career program so you can grow when you are ready

  • You are a good communicator (don't rule yourself out if you are quiet though!) and are keen to be part of our team
  • You want a career path with us... not just any old job
  • You believe in life long learning and are keen to dive into knowing more about hand therapy
  • You are not afraid to roll up your sleeves and get in and help out
  • You have a sense of humour
  • You like ticking things off your list and prefer not to procrastinate or leave important things for ages so they feel too big to get through
  • You value kindness
  • You are eligible to obtain registration with AHRPA and submit a Working with Children Check.

The Benefits!

We know that careers and workplaces don't work as well when the rewards are purely around money and take home pay. Whilst your salary will be a good one.... there are other benefits to being in our team that we believe are really important to being happy at work.

Some of the great benefits are:

  • Having options for flexibile working hours, which means we can schedule in a rostered day off for you, or you might like to leave early one day a week. We are open to helping you get the right work life blend.
  • Being provided with financial support to attend courses and events, as well as paid study days to attend!
  • Being part of our Happiness Program. This has been around for a few years now and it guides us in areas of the workplace that we believe contribute to being happy, including being valued.
  • Our quarterly team training days where we come together with a focus on being the best version of ourselves.
  • Our monthly Welfare Sessions - an informal 'how are you going' team session. This is our 'non work talk' catch up to learn more about each other.
  • Being able to take part in our Hand and Extremity Learning Program (HELP).... this has been developed especially in our team for people new to hand therapy and will take you through all the foundations of assessment and treatment so you feel confident. There are several modules and we give you time in your work day to take part in the program. You won't find this HELP anywhere else. It is our signature training program and we know it works!
  • Plus... all our therapists are funded to be a member of HandSpark - Australia's leading online support and education space for hand therapists.

Our values

  • We are adaptable to what comes our way
  • We are reliable and go out on a limb for our clients, each other and ourselves
  • We have integrity and are brave enough to be our authentic selves
  • We are passionate about what we do, and how each other are going
  • We have grit and are here for the long game

Need a bit more info?

What happens at the end of the project?

After your 12 months with us, you can choose to stay on and continue your career here. We are here for you for the long game. This graduate positions continue on for you if you want.... with all the same mentoring, care adn support that you have enjoyed. You will be able to spread your wings further in our team.

Will there be other therapists in the project?

Yes. You will be learning and growing with other therapists who are also keen to be here.

I am worried about relocating. My family are not near Wagga.

We get it. Many of us have moved away from our home area for our careers and we know that this can be hard to start with. We know what feeling homesick is, and we know the important things that can help you through that. We are happy to be your family and our support for you goes deeper than the therapy room.

What will the pay be like?

We pay above award wages. You might of seen that on lots of therapy advertisements.... so what does it actually mean? In Australia, most private practices pay their therapists based on the Fair Work Health Professionals Award. It is not overaly high when looking at the hourly rate, so as a company, we made a decision a long time ago that we would pay our team members above that award rate. Being paid above award means you have more money at the end of the day.... and if you are ok at managing money... it means you aren't running out at the end of each fortnight and can put some away to save..... maybe for a house, a new car, a holiday, or something else you are keen to get happening in your life.

I'd like to talk to someone about it

Great idea! There are a couple of options here. You can talk to me if you want to know more about the perks and how it will run. You can also talk to anyone in our team if you have some qusetions about what it is like to work here. Reach out and let us know what you need. You can contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

When does the project start?

Our applications close on 30th October 2021

In November we open up for therapy assistant roles for students if you are interested.  If you have already graduated, we will negotiate a start date that suits you.

January 2022 is when The Launch Project for the year kicks off officially.

Is there help to relocate to Wagga Wagga?

Yes, we offer relocation assistance that is tailored to your needs. In the past this has been paid temporary accommodation, help with removalist fees, reimbursement for things like beds and fridges, or payments for flights and travel. We assess this on an individual need and prioritise those relocating from interstate to join us. Our previous new graduates in the team

Briana

Briana started with us as a new graduate in 2018. Her role started as an allied health assistant, and once graduated from university, she moved over into a therapy role. Briana has progressed her career to become one of our Associate Therapists, and we call her our walking sunshine.

Abbey

Abbey has been part of our team since 2016, when she started with us as a new graduate. She has grown her career here, and is now our amazing Therapy Coordinator, which means she is the day to day manager of the clinic and provides beautiful supportive mentoring to our other therapists.
