More Ways to Work with Us

Leading Occupational Therapist/Physiotherapist:
Hand and Upper Limb Therapy

  • In a current role that is not quite right for you?
  • Want to be in a hand therapy position that has room for you to grow?
  • Keen to work in a leadership role with a lovely team around you?

We would love to add an additional hand therapist to our team here. We have a growing niche that is incredibly rewarding to work in with lots of learning and support.

We welcome therapists who are either occupational therapists or physiotherapists to apply. We currently run a full time hand and wrist therapy service and see clients with varying presentations of chronic and acute cases, including post-surgical care. We have the latest equipment and stock to support your therapy and a beautiful hand therapy room to work out of. This can be a full time or part time role - you choose!

What is a leading therapist?

Here at Riverina Hand Therapy we have a career path for each of our therapists. Those starting out in hand therapy are Associates. There are four levels to progress through as an Associate. Next are our Leading Therapists.... and then we have our Therapy Coordinator positions (a therapist who is coordinating the clinic, mentoring, triaging, ordering etc).

A Leading Therapist is nestled in between our Associates and our Therapy Coordinator. It is a great place for people who have experience in hand therapy and are more independent from appt to appt during their day. They can also support and assist the Associate therapists and be part of our Leadership Team to have a greater say in how we do things, and work on some projects to enhance the practice.

The Benefits!

We know that careers and workplaces don't work as well when the rewards are purely around money and take home pay. Whilst your salary will be a good one.... there are other benefits to being in our team that we believe are really important to being happy at work.

Some of the great benefits are:

  • Having options for flexibile working hours, which means we can schedule in a rostered day off for you, or you might like to leave early one day a week. We are open to helping you get the right work life blend.
  • Being provided with financial support to attend courses and events, as well as paid study days to attend. In this leadership role, we also support you to develop your leadershp skills.
  • Being part of our Happiness Program. This has been around for a few years now and it guides us in areas of the workplace that we believe contribute to being happy, including being valued.
  • Our quarterly team training days where we come together with a focus on being the best version of ourselves.
  • Our monthly Welfare Sessions - an informal 'how are you going' team session. This is our 'non work talk' catch up to learn more about each other.
  • Being part of a leadership team that helps shape where our practice flows and what we need to do our jobs well.
  • Values time! An hour a day in your diary so you have the space to catch a breath, pause and work on things that help you live into our practice values. We are proud of this initiative.
  • Pre-paid overtime.... we incorporate this into your salary for any odd days when you need to do a little extra. If you are efficient and can be organised to leave on time - bonus to you because you still get the overtime pay each pay run! Win win! More money for you to spend outside work on your hobbies and treats.
  • Plus... all our therapists are funded to be a member of HandSpark - Australia's leading online support and education space for hand therapists.

Our values

  • We are adaptable to what comes our way
  • We are reliable and go out on a limb for our clients, each other and ourselves
  • We have integrity and are brave enough to be our authentic selves
  • We are passionate about what we do, and how each other are going
  • We have grit and are here for the long game

If you are a new grad or haven't completed hand therapy work before..... we have something else for you. Our Launch Project - you can apply for that here.

Need a bit more info?

Is this a permanent role?

Yes! We'd love you to come and spend time with us. We are here for you for the long game. This position continues on for you as long as you want.

How big is the team right now?

We are just right.... with a plan to grow a little more. We don't have desires to be a huge team. Currently in our Wagga team we have two Associate therapists and two Therapy Coordinators (one on maternity leave and one acting in her role). We also have a wonderful therapy assistant with us on Fridays and our AMAZING Client Coordinator (aka admin front desk) who is with us full time.

We also have an additional practice in Tasmania called Health Nest. We operate as one company. Down in the Tassie practice we have two Associate therapists, our Therapy Coordinator and our front desk Client Coodinator.

I am worried about relocating. My family are not near Wagga.

We get it. Many of us have moved away from our home area for our careers and we know that this can be hard to start with. We know what feeling homesick is, and we know the important things that can help you through that. We are happy to be your family and our support for you goes deeper than the therapy room.

What will the pay be like?

The pay will be GOOD!!!! We pay above award wages. You might've seen that on lots of therapy advertisements.... so what does it actually mean? In Australia, most private practices pay their therapists based on the Fair Work Health Professionals Award. It is not overly high when looking at the hourly rate, so as a company, we made a decision a long time ago that we would pay our team members above that award rate. Being paid above award means you have more money at the end of the day.... and if you are ok at managing money... it means you aren't running out at the end of each fortnight and can put some away to save..... maybe for a house, a new car, a holiday, or something else you are keen to get happening in your life.

I'd like to talk to someone about it

Great idea! There are a couple of options here. You can talk to me if you want to know more about the perks and how it will run. You can also talk to anyone in our team if you have some questions about what it is like to work here. Reach out and let us know what you need. You can contact me at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

When does the position start?

When we find the right person! If that is you.... welcome and we look forward to having you start as soon as you can. We are keen and eager to have you here.

Is there help to relocate to Wagga Wagga?

Yes, we offer relocation assistance that is tailored to your needs. In the past this has been paid temporary accommodation, help with removalist fees, reimbursement for things like beds and fridges, or payments for flights and travel. We assess this on an individual need and prioritise those relocating from interstate to join us.
